OMRI Input Listed® (được dịch là: Danh sách các sản phẩm đầu vào được OMRI chứng nhận) là một chứng nhận uy tín quốc tế do Viện Nghiên cứu Vật liệu Hữu cơ (Organic Materials Review Institute – OMRI) cấp cho các sản phẩm đầu vào dùng trong nông nghiệp hữu cơ. Chứng nhận này xác nhận rằng sản phẩm đáp ứng đầy đủ các tiêu chuẩn hữu cơ nghiêm ngặt, được phép sử dụng trong sản xuất, chế biến và xử lý các sản phẩm hữu cơ theo các quy định quốc tế như USDA Organic (Mỹ), Canada Organic, v.v.

Vai trò và ý nghĩa của OMRI Input Listed®

Chứng nhận OMRI Input Listed® đóng vai trò vô cùng quan trọng đối với nông dân, nhà chế biến, các doanh nghiệp nông nghiệp và người tiêu dùng. Cụ thể:

Giới Thiệu Về Tiêu Chuẩn USDA Organic

Tiêu chuẩn hữu cơ USDA (USDA Organic) là bộ quy tắc và quy định do Bộ Nông nghiệp Hoa Kỳ (United States Department of Agriculture – USDA) ban hành nhằm xác định và kiểm soát các phương pháp sản xuất, chế biến và ghi nhãn các sản phẩm nông nghiệp hữu cơ. Đây là một trong những chứng nhận hữu cơ uy tín và phổ biến nhất trên thế giới, được áp dụng không chỉ cho các sản phẩm tiêu thụ tại Hoa Kỳ mà còn có ảnh hưởng rộng rãi trên thị trường xuất khẩu toàn cầu.

Định Nghĩa Sản Phẩm Hữu Cơ Theo USDA

Theo USDA, sản phẩm hữu cơ là những sản phẩm được sản xuất mà không sử dụng các hóa chất tổng hợp, thuốc trừ sâu, phân bón hóa học, sinh vật biến đổi gen (GMO), chất điều chỉnh tăng trưởng, chất bảo quản nhân tạo, hoặc bức xạ ion hóa. Quá trình sản xuất phải tuân thủ nghiêm ngặt các nguyên tắc bảo vệ môi trường, bảo tồn đa dạng sinh học và duy trì cân bằng sinh thái tự nhiên.

Các Nguyên Tắc Cơ Bản Của USDA Organic Standards

  • Đất trồng: Đất phải được canh tác theo phương pháp hữu cơ ít nhất 3 năm trước khi thu hoạch sản phẩm đầu tiên, không sử dụng hóa chất cấm.
  • Hạt giống và cây giống: Ưu tiên sử dụng giống hữu cơ. Không được sử dụng giống biến đổi gen (GMO).
  • Quản lý sâu bệnh: Ưu tiên các biện pháp sinh học, vật lý, cơ học thay vì hóa học.
  • Chăn nuôi: Động vật phải được nuôi dưỡng bằng thức ăn hữu cơ, không sử dụng kháng sinh, hormone tăng trưởng; phải có điều kiện sống đảm bảo phúc lợi động vật và tiếp xúc với môi trường tự nhiên.
  • Chế biến và bảo quản: Không sử dụng phụ gia, chất bảo quản, hương liệu tổng hợp hoặc xử lý bằng bức xạ.
  • Ghi nhãn: Sản phẩm chỉ được dán nhãn “USDA Organic” khi đáp ứng tối thiểu 95% thành phần hữu cơ, phần còn lại phải nằm trong danh mục cho phép.

Quy Trình Chứng Nhận USDA Organic

Các đơn vị sản xuất, chế biến và phân phối sản phẩm hữu cơ phải đăng ký chứng nhận với tổ chức chứng nhận được USDA công nhận. Quá trình này bao gồm kiểm tra hồ sơ, kiểm tra thực địa, truy xuất nguồn gốc và đánh giá việc tuân thủ tiêu chuẩn. Sau khi đạt yêu cầu, sản phẩm sẽ được phép sử dụng nhãn “USDA Organic”.
